Establish Your Blog First

Content is king, content is king, I'm sure you hear it ALL the time when you ask any blogger for the best advice to improve your blog or how to drive readers to it. While it is true that Content is King, there is also a need for MASSIVE content. Often times, I get emails from new bloggers who want to do just about everything regarding social media to get connected and drive their blogs traffic through the roof, but the one thing that many bloggers don't understand is that, you can't expect people to have a thrilling user experience with 10, 20, or even 100 posts.

Take yourself to a new blog. Just pick any random blog that has been updated frequently and is currently maintained. Judge it. Is there enough content for you to surf around? Is the blog worth referring to friends? Would you visit again? Now after you ask these questions, think about how they compare to your blog... make sure you are not giving biased opinions! After an honest review, ask yourself the last question again and again, Would you visit again???? This is, by far, the most important question you can possibly ask as a blogger.

If visitors don't find enough content on the blog, they will decide that you are a new blogger, not established, not worth listening to, and definitely not worth a visit back. Now this doesn't mean that you should crank out 500 new posts over the next 24 hours, but try to update as much and as often as you can if you are a new blogger. Focus more on the growth of your blog in terms of content than visitors. If you have plenty to look at, unique visits, page views and all that good stuff is bound to come!

By the way, having a new blog, doesn't mean that you can't promote it. Just don't have that be your main focus. Many well known bloggers will tell you that it was at least a year or two before they had any STABLE and big traffic coming in.
